Now that the Holiday Season is behind us, we’re starting 2013 with endless possibilities. As you know, your vehicles is one of your largest financial investments, so resolving to take better care of your car is a great way to ring in the New Year. Not to mention that taking the time to do preventative maintenance services will save you time, money, and many headaches down the road. Proper auto maintenance costs MUCH less than expensive auto repairs, so for your vehicle and your wallets sake we encourage you to take care of your car!
Here’s a helpful guide for your yearly auto maintenance:
Every month, be sure to do the basics:
-Check the condition of your tires
-Check your tire pressure
-Check your windshield washer fluid level
-Give your vehicle a quick overall cleaning
Every 3 months (or 3,000 miles), you should:
-Examine the fluid levels of your automatic transmission, power steering and brakes
-Check the battery, belts, hoses and cables
-Make sure the exhaust, fuel and engine filters don’t need to be replaced
Every 6 months (or 6,000 miles), be sure to:
-Replace the windshield wipers
-Check the chassis lubrication
Every 12 months (or 12,000 miles), make sure you:
-Have the brakes, steering, suspension, spark plugs and coolant examined and replaced or repaired, if necessary.
